Job Description: Casual Support Worker

Our Casual Support Workers are vital members of our team. They cover staff holidays and absence; ensuring residents in our very sheltered housing developments continue to receive a high quality service.
To deliver such a quality housing management and housing support service requires relevant skills and experience. You’ll be more than comfortable promoting independent living for older people and you’ll have demonstrable experience in doing this through previous roles in supported housing or similar services, You’ll also be happy working closely and effectively with our tenants, their relatives and external agencies.
You’ll be an excellent communicator and administrator with at least basic IT skills.
Please note the following:
• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable. Following the opening of the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) registration in September 2017, you will be required to register within 6 months of commencing employment in the post.
• However, if you do not hold the desired qualification of SVQ3, we are committed to supporting you and you must obtain this qualification within 12 months from commencing employment in the post.
• Once registered must remain registered with the Scottish Social Services Council as condition of employment.
This post will be job share with a staff member who will also work 17.5 hours per week including sleepovers. This job share role involves rotational shift work, including weekend working, covering early, back shift and sleepover duties with a sleepover payment of £33.20.
