Job Description: Company Secretary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Chief Executive’s department for a Company Secretary. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and experienced professional to undertake the duties of the role ensuring that the Association complies and operates in accordance with legal and corporate governance requirements.
Hanover is an award winning housing association and has an excellent reputation as a first class company to work for. Making a positive contribution to our customers’ lives is of the highest importance to us. We would expect you to naturally wish to help us to continually improve and that you will have a keen and active interest in our business and how it operates.
Ideally, applicants will be familiar with the environment in which the Association delivers its services and with our governance and regulatory frameworks in which we operate. You will also demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of legal processes and will have experience of servicing and attending Board/Committee meetings as a support to the business.
The successful person will report to and work closely with the Chief Executive, working to support the Board as we manage and shape our future. You will be part of a successful and highly motivated team operating in a dynamic environment which will afford you the opportunity and scope to achieve your personal and business development potential.
The successful person will have a legal or equivalent qualification and will be (or prepared to become) a corporate member of a relevant professional body. You will have excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills as well as the ability to work on your own initiative whilst managing conflicting demands and meeting deadlines. You will appreciate the critical importance of attention to detail and will be responsible for creating and updating key documents in the delivery of your work.
In return, you’ll be part of one of the sector’s most forward-thinking organisations, and one that strongly values its staff and customers. We’re Investors in People accredited, and offer a highly competitive benefits package including flexitime, generous annual leave and a choice of pension scheme.
We would be delighted to hear from you, if you have the experience, qualifications and the personal commitment that would support your success in this post.
