Job Description: Company Secretary
As a leading not-for-profit provider of quality housing for older people, we want to make a hugely positive difference to our customers’ lives. We’re a progressive organisation with customer service at the heart of what we do, and you’ll need to reflect that when supporting our internal customers.
An opportunity has arisen with the Chief Executive’s department for a Company Secretary. The post is permanent, however it may also be offered on a one-year secondment to the right candidate.
We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and experienced professional to undertake the duties of the role ensuring that the Association complies and operates in accordance with legal and corporate governance requirements.
Applicants will be familiar with the environment in which the Association delivers its services and with the governance and the regulatory frameworks in which we operate. You will also demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of legal processes and will have experience of servicing and attending Board/Committee meetings as a support to the business.
The successful appointee will report to the Chief Executive, working to support the Board as we manage and shape our future. You will be part of a successful and highly motivated team operating in a dynamic environment which will afford you the opportunity and scope to achieve your personal and business development potential.
The successful appointee will have a legal or equivalent qualification and will be (or prepared to become) a corporate member of a relevant professional body. You will have excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills as well as the ability to work on your own initiative whilst managing conflicting demands and meeting deadlines. You will appreciate the critical importance of attention to detail and will be responsible for creating and updating key documents in the delivery of your work.
In return, you’ll be part of the sector’s most forward-thinking organisations that strongly values its staff and customers. We’re Investors in People and Investors in Diversity accredited, and offer a highly competitive benefits package including flexitime, generous annual leave and a choice of pension scheme.
You may contact our CEO Helen Murdoch for an informal discussion about the post: email@example.com or tel: 0131 557 7420.
CVs will not be considered. Please quote reference number above in correspondence.
