Job Description: Telecare Operator
A call comes through. An elderly, distressed customer tells you that she has a severe water leak in her flat. Your colleague also receives a call from someone in the flat below, shouting that their ceiling is about to collapse….
What do you do first?
Do you have the skills to keep clam in a stressful situation?
Do you have essential organisational skills so that you can immediately prioritise?
Can you empathise support our elderly customers – and your colleagues when they need it?
If your answers are yes, we would like you to join our team.
Hanover Telecare provides round-the-clock emergency call handling services and emergency repairs services to older and more vulnerable individuals throughout Scotland, enabling them to live independently and safely in their own homes.
Our team members provide essential, and occasionally, life-saving, assistance to our customers. They make a difference every single day.
Due to new business contracts we are delighted to be recruiting for Telecare Operators to join our team in Edinburgh and contribute to this important service. Our ideal candidate must care; about our customers and about our service.
Your communication skills must be exemplary. Your listening skills and probing questions will quickly establish the reason for the call, whilst your calming yet decisive manner will reassure individuals who may be distressed. You will be able to grasp a range of complex procedures and apply them systematically, never forgetting the high levels of customer service we expect our staff to provide.
You may come from a care, customer service or call centre background and you will have excellent computer and keyboard skills. This is an office-based role that requires a good level of written English and fast, accurate typing. A comprehensive induction and training programme will be provided for your first few months.
The Control Centre is a 365 day and night service. Shift, weekend and public holiday working is a requirement.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by phone on Tuesday 27 March 2018. Those successful at this stage will be invited to an assessment centre selection day on Thursday 29 March 2018.
Candidates must be available to attend the assessment centre.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, it is not possible to reply individually. Invitations for interview will normally be issued within 3 weeks of the closing date. If you have not been invited to interview by this date you have been unsuccessful in this instance.
