Head of Governance and Transformation – Edinburgh

Hanover has been successfully housing and supporting people in Scotland for more than 40 years. We currently manage more than 5,000 homes throughout Scotland. We provide a range of housing and tenure types to meet the different support needs of older people, allowing them to retain their independence within a local community and enjoy as much privacy or company as they wish.

About the Role

Are you an experienced strategic improvement manager with a track record of delivering success? Someone who is innovative and able to lead and motivate others to succeed in an evolving environment? Do you have experience of and the core values to work with a leading specialist housing association?   Do you want to help us shape the next chapter of a sector leading organisation?

If so, our Head of Governance & Transformation post will offer you the opportunity to join our Executive Leadership Team and, reporting directly to our Chief Executive, contribute to our overall business improvement and transformation strategy and delivery plan with prime responsibility for ensuring effective assurance and governance.

We are dedicated to delivering amazing homes and services to older people across the housing and care service in Scotland.  We are developing an exciting new Strategy setting out our vision for the next period of our development. You will lead a business-critical team to design and deliver a range of programmes with a flair for collaboration and eye for detail.

We are looking for a candidate that can identify with the values of the organisation, share our ambition for Hanover and the customers we serve and provide the drive and energy to achieving our outcomes.

About You

This role is responsible to the Chief Executive and an integral part of the Executive Leadership Team.  You will work closely with the CE, Directors and the Senior Management Team with collective responsibility to provide robust systems and frameworks to achieve continuous improvement and the delivery of strategic objectives.

This is a complex role requiring the skilful balancing of multiple work streams underpinned with strong leadership qualities including:

  • A proactive contribution to organisational development and management of change
  • Demonstrating a wide understanding of the housing association sector and the relative governance frameworks
  • Leading a dedicated team to sculpt and support a culture of improvement, collaborative working and delivery of high-quality services
  • Communicating and influencing to cement strategic alliances and partnership working
