Find the perfect home for you
We have homes for rent all over Scotland. Use this map or the Find a Property tool to find your perfect home.
The types of housing we offer are below – click on any one for a brief description. Remember, the facilities vary from place to place. To get a real idea of what our properties are like, take a look at the property pages by using the map or filters above. Or, better still, get in touch with us and arrange to come and have a look round. We’ll make you very welcome.
Sheltered housing is aimed at over 60s. A Sheltered Housing Manager looks after the development and helps residents to live as independently as possible. Most developments have a secure main entrance and all properties have their own front doors.
Properties usually have one or two bedrooms and a community alarm service, allowing residents to call for help 24 hours a day. Developments usually have communal lounges and kitchens, a laundrette, gardens and guest suites for visitors.
Amenity housing is for more active older people. Each property is a flat or cottage, with its own front door. Features can include grab rails, level floors or walk in showers. Many are also connected to a community alarm.
Very sheltered housing is aimed at frailer older people. Residents still have their own flat and can live as independently as they please, but support staff are on site 24 hours a day and quality, nutritious meals are served in attractive communal dining areas. Most properties have a good sized living room, one bedroom and a shower or wet room, and a kitchenette so residents can still prepare light meals.
Housing with care is located in some of our sheltered or very sheltered developments. Run in partnership with local authorities, either Hanover or the local authority offer an in-house care service.
Residents benefit from regular contact with carers they are familiar with and we can easily and quickly adapt the service to suit residents’ changing needs.
A very small amount of our housing is classed as general needs. It’s for anyone over 16 and is usually located within our sheltered or amenity housing developments. The design and sizes of the properties vary greatly, from one to four bedroomed properties.
Want to buy a property?
If you want to buy a retirement property, visit a property selling website – like Rightmove or Zoopla. We manage homes for owners, but we don’t sell them. Some sellers do advertise Hanover-managed properties on this website – you can find out more here.
