On Friday night, Glasgow was the venue for a celebration of excellence, passion and commitment to the Scottish housing sector as nearly 500 housing professionals gathered for the Scotland Housing Awards 2023. The awards, run by the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) in Scotland, were an opportunity to shine a light on the creativity, innovation and dedication of those individuals, teams and organisations that deliver vital services and support to communities throughout the nation.
Hanover was delighted to have received nominations in two categories, recognising the quality of employees in our organisation. Hanover’s Chief Executive Angela Currie was nominated in the Excellence in Leadership category and Asset Management Administrative Assistant Becky Clarke was nominated for the Young Achiever in Housing award.
We are delighted to say that Becky won and was named Young Achiever in Housing for 2023! Becky was nominated in recognition of her outstanding communication skills, engaging with various stakeholders and obtaining ‘buy-in’ from all in working towards improving our adaptations process and improving performance.
Angela Currie said: “All of us at Hanover were thrilled by the nominations for Scotland in Housing Awards. We thoroughly enjoyed the awards event and the evening proved to be both inspiring and encouraging.
I am incredibly proud of Becky for winning the Young Achiever in Housing Award. She has shown us all what you can achieve within an organisation with the right support, skills and attitude. Her work has made a real difference to our tenants.”
Becky Clarke said: “We had a fantastic evening at the awards event and it was great to see so many examples of dedication and commitment to delivering excellence in the housing sector.
I am extremely grateful to win this award and knowing that the improvements on adaptations has been recognised and made an impact makes me very happy. It was a special moment for me and makes me want to continue making any difference I can to our tenants’ lives even more now.
