Hanover today announced important changes to its Board leadership, marking a new chapter in the organisation’s governance.
After more than a decade of service, Gary Devlin has stepped down as Chair of the Board. Gary has been a valued Board member since 2013 and has provided exceptional leadership as Chair since 2021. His expertise, dedication, and commitment to Hanover’s mission of providing quality housing and services for older people have helped steer the organisation through a period of growth and transformation.
The Board is pleased to confirm that Professor Margaret Whoriskey MBE has been appointed as the new Chair of Hanover Scotland. Margaret brings a wealth of experience from her national leadership role in digital health and care, her background as a clinical psychologist, and her track record of innovation and collaboration across the health, housing, and social care sectors. Her appointment reflects Hanover’s ongoing commitment to innovation, inclusion, and improving the lives of the people it serves.
Hanover also wishes to extend its sincere gratitude to Fraser Mitchell, who is stepping down from the Board after several years of dedicated service. Fraser’s contributions have been invaluable in strengthening Hanover’s governance and shaping its strategic direction.
Commenting on the transition, Angela Currie, Chief Executive, Hanover said, “We are immensely grateful to Gary and Fraser for their commitment and service, and we look forward to working with Margaret as she leads Hanover into an exciting new phase of development and innovation.”
Hanover remains focused on its mission to provide high-quality housing and services that support older people to live well, independently, and with dignity.
