Wilma

Wilma Morrison may be familiar to some of you in her Christmas guise as Mrs Claus, who we have featured in previous Grapevines. She also volunteers as a guide at Pollok House

Best thing about volunteering?

Meeting people from so many different places.

My memorable moments would take too long to list!

What have you gained from volunteering?

What I have gained from volunteering is a continuing interest in history and researching people and items in Pollok House. This has given me the confidence to go give talks to other volunteers and to many groups in and around Glasgow – sometimes even further afield!

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of being Mrs Claus – it’s the best job ever. What gets me out of bed in the morning is knowing that I have a busy day ahead.

What three items would you want with you on a desert island?

The items I would want to have with me on a desert island are:- Hair Rollers, can’t do without them! The contents of my make up bag just in case someone else is castaway and I need to look my best. Thirdly a copy of Gone With The Wind as it would take me quite a while to read it – as long as I had my glasses with me!
